Outta Here!

This whole week has been a whole bunch of MickeyMouseWork and passing time at Tamarind. The end of the semester party was Tuesday night at Marge's house. Yesterday we had a last-minute Gold Leaf demo and I did my laundry and packed. Today we took a lightning fast look at our last few projects with Rodney, did a massive clean-up of the studio, and said our goodbyes.

In the meantime, I'm all packed up and ready to go to STL for 5 weeks!

See you in Saint Louieeee!!!!

Unsatisfying

I'll tell you what unsatisfying is!

Unsatisfying is taking an online Algebra I exam, only to get to the end and find out that the program isn't compatible with your browser and is therefore unable to calculate your test results!

I'm sure you're wondering what I'm doing taking Algebra I tests.

Honestly, it's been 15 years since I was in Algebra I and I found some of the questions to be rather challenging. I like to brush up on these things every now and again. You know, keep my mind sharp. In case I come across a girl named Sue, who has 16 marbles in her pocket. And lets just say that 8 of the marbles are red, 4 are green, and 4 are blue. Perhaps she might want to know how many she could take out and still know that she had one of each color. I want to be able to tell her how many!!!

Dude.

I need to get out of here.

Sicko

Well, my body finally decided to break down on me. Thank goodness it was at the end of the semester!

  • My throat started hurting on Monday, but I thought I had just wrecked it from yelling too much at the football game.

  • On Tuesday it was starting to feel thick and even more sore. I told Carrie that I thought I had strep throat.

  • By Wednesday my throat felt better, but the rest of my body was achy and I was really tired.

  • Thursday I had to sponge all day, but got a burst of energy in the afternoon, printed three color runs in less than an hour and went home and collapsed.

  • By Friday I was done for. Sniffling, sneezing, congestion. I was like a cold medicine commercial, minus the cold medicine. Patrick took me to the store and I picked up some generic Nyquil.

  • Saturday, hung over from cold medicine, I slept until 11:30am then stayed in my pajamas for the rest of the afternoon. Less sneezing, more congestion, it felt like the side of my face was numb and my ear was stopped up.

  • Today I was better. Went to the Packer bar to watch the game with Patrick, went to fancy brunch with 6 out of 8 Tamarindos, and shopped a bit in old town with Alexandra. I'm coughing a lot and I'm still feeling congested. It's moved into my chest now, which means it's almost gone.

We've all but thrown in the towel on this semester at Tamarind. Everyone is tired and even Rodney has lost the will to continue. Our end of the semester party is on Tuesday night and we're not really expected to do much past that. I wish I had known that when I was buying my plane ticket home, but we weren't supposed to be officially done until Friday.

Right now, I've got a ticket out of here on Friday morning. And I won't be coming back to ABQ until January 21st, 5 weeks from now! I'm so happy to be going home. I'm taking some litho plates with me to draw on during the break, and I'm going to be working at the UPS Store while I'm home. I will definitely be busy.

I just have to get through this week!
