Apologies

I'm sorry for being such a miserable blogger lately.

I started to write a big post about our latest project. But I've been slacking on my picture taking and start to feel too wordy without images to back me up.

Patrick and I finished our projects this afternoon which means we have a little bit of time to relax. This little break will perfectly coincide with the arrival of CARRIE tomorrow morning! Hooray! We're going to enjoy the Balloon Fiesta this weekend, go out to dinner, catch a showing of The Darjeeling Limited and perhaps go to the Packer Bar on Sunday night with Patrick and his parents to see the Pack take on the Bears.

So I'm sure you're wondering what else have I been doing lately... especially now that the Cardinal baseball season is over. This past week, I have discovered full episodes from season one of 30Rock. I was a little worried about not having a TV, but it's turned out to be okay. I still get to watch the Office, just a day later than everyone else. I watch a lot of movies with Alex and Pat, but I also signed up for NetFlix recently so that I could pick out my own movies to watch. Of course, now that I've signed up for it, I can't think of a single thing that I was wanting to rent. If you have any suggestions, leave them below in the comments section.

When I watch television the computer, I often draw caricatures so that I don't feel like I'm completely wasting my time. I don't think I've shown any of them here yet. Marge asked if I would do one of the soon to be inaugurated UNM president. Here it is:

I'm eating a lot of pop-ices. I'm still hanging out with Patrick and Alex quite a bit. I've also recently discovered that a good night's sleep can do wonders for tiredness. It's amazing.

Of course, the rest of the time I'm at Tamarind. When I'm not working, I like to go in the library and read old Tamarind publications from the 60's... Something like "Business Methods for the Lithography Workshop" or "Economic Standards for the Lithography Workshop". They're pretty interesting but because they're so dated, they're probably not as useful as they once were. We've been given the assignment for our big Workshop Proposal and I am very excited about it. This is something that I've been thinking about for a while and it's great to have an assignment that makes me plan out every detail of it.

Out of My Hands

I finished printing my SNAP!!! edition near the beginning of last week and allowed a few days for cleaning them up and making them look pretty for the portfolio exchange. This included erasing any inky fingerprints, disguising poor registration and removing registration marks.

On Friday, I spent a good part of the day getting ready to ship them off. First, I signed, titled, dated, and numbered the prints. Then I bought some glassine (a supposedly pH neutral paper that is used for storing prints) and cut it into slip cases for them. Next I made a last minute decision to trim the prints down. When I'd started they were 12"x12" but the stretch of the press made them all different sizes. Finally, I wrapped them up and doubled boxed them, printed out a UPS label and ran down to the UPS Store to catch their last pickup for the day.

I'm glad to have that out of my hands. Now I can concentrate on my next Tamarind project.
